It doesn't feel normal
I don't think it's a big deal but I want to ask this young lady at Starbucks for her number, I'd like
To get to know her some, I believe she wants me to anyway, it just doesn't feel normal,
Is it?

I don't understand what you mean.
It is normal for some people to be shy or nervous
About approaching someone for the first time.
Is this what you meant?

I don't really know what would classify as a normal
Place to find someone you might like to date.
I wouldn't worry about the place , it is
The opportunity that counts , and that can
Be anywhere.
Do it , ask her.
The worst that can happen is she'll
Say no , and you shouldn't be concerned
About that either. It will happen and
It's not a big deal , learn to accept
A refusal with a grain of salt.
But if you don't try you can't win.

Most likely the only reason you're feeling it's 'not normal', is because it's out of your comfort zone. You're worried you would look stupid, the rejection, her response, etc. Maybe she'll indeed like you too, then what? Just very normal reactions and questions, and usually it takes some courage to make that step. I agree with martinizing, just try, you'll never know what you'll get and she might just turn out to be the perfect one for you. I do have to admit I have had such moments many times before and thought I'd look stupid or shy just walking up to a woman I'd see I like and ask her out or something. I did do it several times and then it turned out to be nothing, or we were both shy. In the end my (current) GF had to approach me instead with the desired result (together 1,5 year now). So it's all good anyway.

I don't see why it's not normal. It's actually kind of romantic :) Ask her! :)
