    Don't worry, sypher. You've come to the right place if you want to get help. Although it will hurt like heck for a while, you will become a stronger, wiser person.

    As for me, she's contacted me since, and we've had short conversations (it always seems to be when I'm talking to my present GF!). She apparently still cares about me, and thinks about me "more than I could possibly know". I kept her at arm's distance, but I still care and I'll be there for her if she needs it. However, I will not be her emotional tampon.
