    VIN111
I had laser to remove VIN111. My partner would like to know if it is safe to touch my vagina now, or whether she will be at risk of catching VIN111. While I know HPV is involved, I did not have any warts where the VIN111 was detected. I have not had any warts in years but instead get VIN111. Please let me know since having sex with my partner is feeling odd. She wears gloves and the entire sex experience is becoming too much for me.

As long as you have the HPV virus active in your body you are infectous. Even without outward symptoms of any type. This is true in many other things that can be transmitted to others as well, not just this. Carriers don't have to show any of the symptoms of what they have. Yet still be fully capable of infecting others.

Oh. So in other words continued sexual relations need to involve gloves? Of course I do not want to transfer it to my partner. I am not sure how I feel about being with anyone now since this HPV to VIN111 has come to light.

I understand what you are feeling. But yes that is right. Gloves and Condoms or other form of barrier as would apply. Without gloves or a barrier it can be transmitted.

An alternative is to pair up with a partner (assuming you end up in that position again at some point in the future) that suffers from it as well. If you both have it... you can't give it to each other.

Thanks for taking the time to explain this to me smoothy. I am very new to the dating scene, having been married for nearly 30 years. I do feel very sad over this entire thing since the HPV is something that happened when I was with my (ex) husband :(

I won't be pairing up with someone else, since this relationship is the one I am interested in maintaining. It does, however, change how I feel. I guess "confused" would be the best description.

    Again, thanks for the advice.

Well I used the term pairing up... because it really is independent of orientation, and not meant like "Hooking up".

With a lot of luck... there will be advances in anti-viral medications that might end this as a threat. But until then... be aware and careful.
