    No start no run
I have a 1979 F150 that I have recently replaced the motor and trans everything under the hood is new. Last week I started to work and the truck died, would not restart no click nothing, the battery is new the starter is new, everything from the switch to the starter is new. My question is when you turn the key you can see that the power is being sucked up somewhere because the doom light dims greatly, has anyone experienced this before? Also the new starter I purchased has a BAT hookup and an IGN. Hook up, my old one simply had the BAT hookup, the instruction stated that you shoul jump a wire from the BAT term. On the starter to the IGN. Term. On the starter which I have don still nothing. Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for everyone's input on this. Yesterday I was testing wires under the hood with my test light and just happened to touch the outer case of the altenator and the light lit up like a Christmas tree, so I fiqured I had an issue with the altenator. I changed it out and everything is back to normal, fired right up. No start, no run, no more. Thanks again
