Given no scholarship, is Box 2 of 1098-T the actual amount billed by school?
Providing that I did not receive any scholarship or grant in 2010, is the amount shown in Box 2 on my 1098-T the actual amount that I was billed by my school for tuition and expenses?

    Thank you very much!

1098 t box 7? [ 1 Answers ]

Reported 1098t on 2009 tax form. Looking back, I noticed the 1098t had box 7 marked that they included amounts for academic period beginning January - march 2010. Does that mean I do not report anything on the 2010 tax form even though I received another 1098t form for this 2010 year?

1098-T not showing correct amount [ 1 Answers ]

This one is not straight forward. I started an MBA in Spring of 2007 (January). My school (Purdue) gave us 1098T right away for tuition we paid for January 2007 semester so many students can claim it with their 2006 return ($6000 for one semester). I decided not to. Then when I filed for 2007...

1098-t (box 7) [ 4 Answers ]

I have 2009 Spring courses that are showing up on my 2008 1098-t. Box 7 is checked indicating this fact. Based on my interpretation of pub970, it says that expenses paid in 2008 for spring courses in 2009 CAN be claimed on your 2008 return. I want to know if I can edit the total amount, claiming...

1098-T from school [ 1 Answers ]

Recentely I received a 1098-T W2 from my school and quit honestly, I don't know what to do with it. I purchased TurboTax Deluxe (federal and state) so if anyone knows where to enter it into TurboTax that would be great.
