You could report them, perhaps to your state's department of labor. It would depend on which agency is responsible for enforcing the requirements governing workers' compensation in your state.
And, as to your credit score, you might contact the credit reporting agency and request the opportunity to explain the issue. I don't know if it will increase your credit score, but at the very least a potential issuer of credit would know that you didn't simply fail to pay a bill.
If your parents' insurer failed to pay the bill, I would find out why not.
Finally, I would contact the hospital and determine why you were not made aware that this bill was unpaid.
