I had a busted pipe and now I have no hot water
We had satellite internet installed today and the installer went to deep digging a hole for the support pole. He hit a waterline. We had to turn off the water to fix the pipe and now we have no hot water. Why?

    Hi Kp...

Cold water is fine, but only the hot water is an issue? If so, close the cold water shutoff going into the water heater and then reopen it... may dislodge sediment that may have gotten caught up in the shutoff which could certainly shut the hot water down.

Try that and then let me know what happens. I'm in and out over the next couple hours, OK?

Also, let me know if you have all single handle faucets or if some of your faucets/valves have two handles...

I am sure Mark can help you out but I am wondering why you did not hire a plumber to fix this and then bill the satellite guys. They broke it they fix it. You should not have to lift one finger, other than to dial the phone

Hot water pipe touching fire sprinker pipe [ 6 Answers ]

I discovered why the water pressure in my fire prinkler system kept rising. It's because the hot water pipe is right up against the sprinkler pipe causing it to heat which then increases the pressure. Now can I wrap the pipe with insulation. Would this be a good fix? If so, should I wrap the hot...
