What would cause 'kind of' bubbling in the copper on a penny coin?
I have a 1965 penny that looks almost like the copper is bubbled up on the coin. Or maybe like it was poured on it and left to harden that way. And it's quite a bit across the top of the coin and along the front of Lincoln's face over to the edge of the coin, and going down to the year date.

There is no visible damage to the coin, such as smashing etc. No gouges or anything like that. There is no damage on the outside rim of the coin at all. No damage on the backside of the coin is except dicoloration, some being slightly blushis in color.

In the phrase "In God We Trust" at the top of the coin, you can see "In God" just fine... the "We" is on a bubble of copper, so it's readable, but less then normal and then on the "Trust" you can only see part of the S and the entire T.
My son is doing a report on error coins and how they happen and is using this coin as one example. He only has 2 weeks to complete the report so we are hoping for an answer fairly soon. Thank you for your time! RoverDover
