What do I do about having my ex sign off rights? My soon to husband wants to adopt her
My daughter is four years old and I've had sole custody since the day she was born. Her father signed off his rights when I was four months pregnant but the State of Maryland said it was invalid because my daughter was not born yet. I didn't put him on the birth certificate but later that changed when I took him to court for child support. He refused to get a job because $40 little dollars would be taken out of his check weekly. He's already Over $4000 dollars behind. He has only seen her 5 times since she has been born and really wants to sign off his rights. We have already discussed this issue. My soon to husband wants to adopt her and give her a better life with a real father. Please help me figure out what I need to do to make this happen. Although I am in Maryland now, I'm moving to Texas in less than a month.
