Can UK product be wired into my CA home?
I would like to buy a Whale Dry-deck 20 shower sump pump for a shower that I'm building. Since it comes from the UK, can I wire it into my home, the same as a US product? Thanks.

If it is UK made for the US market then fine, but if it is UK made for the UK market then no.

Curious, nothing at all against UK products, but WHY would you buy something like this from the UK when there are perfectly good American made products made for US installations?

It seems to be the only one that doesn't need to be cleaned out... it takes hair, grime, and shoots it through. However... I don't know if it is a "made for US market." What if it's not? Thanks

If it is a 50Hz motor then it will not run the same speed at our 60Hz. It will most likely work, but not the same as if it were installed as intended.
Also, running the motor at 240v instead of the spec'd 220v may do the motor harm long term. Especially considering most residential voltages are upwards of 250v actual.

Hopefully someone more experienced with this condition will chime in.

It must have a UL Label or some other third party testing label to be used in the USA.
