'to preserve disorder'
Reports are that the President is going to call on Clintonoid William Daley;son of the famous Chi-town Mayor Richard Daley to be his new Chief of Staff.
Daley currently serves as a JPMorgan Chase & Co. executive which means another prominent position in his administration will be filled by a Wall Street fat cat.
His dad is most famous for sicking the Chi-town police force on the protesters at the 1968 Democrat Convention. While heads were cracked he commented that the police were there to 'preserve disorder'.
I suspect his son will have a similar role in the Obama Administration.

Repubs complain Obama doesn't know anything about the business world. Now Bill Daley will have an opportunity to teach him. (Bill's not at all like his father.)
And no, it won't be a similar role.

You are free to move on if you don't have anything of substance to add.
Clete posted about the Aussie floods and you made no comment there.

And he doesn't ;but it will be interesting to see the tensions between the relatively moderate Daley and the radicals that are led in the White House by Valerie Jarrett.

Naw. Not a problem. They're all one big happy Illinois/Chicago family. (Valerie would have problems even with MLK.)

Naw. Braun is her own worst enemy. I can't believe the black politicians (Meeks and Davis specifically) decided she should be the black candidate against Chico and Emanuel. Davis would have been a MUCH better choice and would have had a chance to win the election. Braun's an idiot.

Back to Daley. Don't mistake his being at JPMorgan as meaning he is business savvy. All it really means is that he is just another Washington insider peddling influence in the revolving door between Wall Street and Washington.
The only real change is that he's not a Goldman Sachs guy.

Bill's got a good head on his shoulders. He's nice-looking too. He has no skeletons in his closet either.
Like John Kass wrote in his column yesterday:
So Billy goes out to Washington to run Barack's government, and Rahm — the guy Billy's been supporting for mayor — slides in to run Chicago for Billy's brother, Mayor Richard Daley.
I LOVE politics!

Some people are single focused in nitpicking any little detail concerning a group that they don't like.

What is the best preservative and method of application for a wooden vertical board fence?
The fence was installed almost two years ago and is certainly ready for a coat of some kind of preservative, but I really don't know what type/brand is best.
Also, what about application? I'd be glad...
