    GM stocks close @ $36.84
    If I owned 195 shares of GM before the government bailout, do I own and of the new GM and if so how shares

    No, you do not own any new GM shares unless you bought them. So far the old share owners have received bupkis with respect to any ownership in the "new" GM.
