I'm going on a trip to California for skiing, but flying to San Francisco first then driving to Cali.
Can I bring tobacco (in a pouch) with me? Suitcase or hand luggage?
Can I smoke it over there?
What happens if I take it in my suitcase and I get caught? Am I classed as a minor in the US and will there be trouble?

I'm asking this because usually I asked my dad to take it in his suitcase/hand luggage for me but I'm going with friends and we're all under 21.

You should have no problems with tobacco in your suitcase.

And you should have no problem smoking it here in the US.

To be sure that your hassles are minimum, don't put the tobacco in your carry-on.

This is probably true where you are going, but with all of the stuff going on at our airports, I'd suggest that you don't carry it on.

In most states here in the US, you can buy tobacco at age 18.

And FrChuck is right, no one will stop you or hassle you for smoking, but if you're under 18 you probably won't be able to buy it.

You will not faces any problems but be aware smoking is banned inside most public buildings or within 15 Ft of the door.
