    I got a theft in a different state and I'm on probation in nj, will I go to jail?

    It is up to your PO, you are required to notify your PO of the arrest, ( don't let them just find out, it is a very serious violation not to inform them of the arrest)

    So you have first to worry about the arrest and court date as they may sentence you to jail,

    But as for the vioation of your probation, that will be up to the judge,
