Louvers/Vanes for the vertical blinds not rotating.
Please excuse the multiple postings, but I wasn't sure of the correct forum for posting.

The louvers or vanes for the vertical blinds are not rotating even when I pull the chain that hangs on the side. I have tried overlapping the vanes correctly, but they still won't rotate. Pulling the chain rotates the metal rod inside the assembly and makes a click-click sound, but that's about it. My MIL wrecked the assembly when she tried to open the blinds without rotating the vanes (in the open position) and a few plastic parts went flying. I know that some stems (that hold the vanes) are broken since I can manually rotate the vanes without hearing the clicking sound (which I hear for the unbroken stems).

Anyway, I have bought some replacement stems and plan to replace the broken ones. My question is do I first fix the problem of vanes not rotating or do I first replace the broken stems? And how do I fix either problems? Please advice.

    Thanks,
    K
