Old credit card debt...
I also have been served a civil summons in Tennessee... it has been 2 years since the account was used, and just got the summons... divorced father of 3 with much child support obligations and just cannot pay it... do I have options besides bankruptcy?

Not really any options, but you have to answer the summons, or the creditor will be awarded a judgment to take the money from you; so you basically have to address the matter in court. It doesn't matter that you have prior obligations. The debt has to be paid and unfortunately the statute of limitations doesn't enter into it because the debt is still relatively new. Bankruptcy is always an alternative but that comes with its downside as well. Tick |
