    Electrical fault
    A question for any electricians out there,my power supply went the other day but has been restarted again,everything is working apart from the extractor can in the kitchen.there is power running to the cable but no out put to appliances.also there is power running in the neutral wire too.whats causing this and can I fix the problem myself?

    Where are you located?
    UK?
    Is this 230 volts?
    If so is your system a ring main? How do you know that there is power running to the cable but no out put to appliances.also there is power running in the neutral wire?

    I really need more info and detail to help.

    I am curious as to how you determined there is "power running in the neutral" ? Also I assume you meant a fan ? Also you say appliance(s) is there more than one that doesn't work? Or just the fan ?
