    Iridescent feathers
Is the phenomenon of the rainbow related in any way to the iridescent colors of some birds' feathers?

    iridescent feathers
Rainbows are caused by light refracting off water droplets in the air.
Bird feathers are irradescent because of the angle the light hits them.
In simplest form, they could be related because they work by light striking a surface, but one involves water, the other doesn't.
