    I need some clarification.

    Which of the below equations are you trying to solve?

    y = 3x - 6x + 4
    y = 3x - 6x - 4
    y = 3x - 6 * 4

    The reason I ask is because you have not written anything between the 6x and the 4. Also, since there are two variables, we would need more information to actually solve the equation. Are you just trying to solve for x? Or simplify?

    Does the "x" in y=3x-6x4 represent an algebraic variable or the multiplication operator?
