    What is velocity
    Velocity is the speed and direction on an object. Most commonly the term "velocity" is used to describe the speed of an object. In physics, velocity is the of rate of change displacement.

    You are correct, but an easier way to look at velocity is speed with direction added.

    50 mph is a speed.
    50 mph North is a velocity.
