Help with skin care,
I'm 32 yr old black family. One year ago I started using proactiv solution.But a friend told me about a product that I should try and I did with no success I went back on proactiv but now I am getting a puffy eye just in my right eye{or} swellness ::)please could someone help me P/N I have acne problems with a cold cloth :-[ the swellness will go down. ::)

I qouls suggest not putting Proactiv anywhere near your eyes and see if you stillhave the swelling problem. If you do then get off Proactiv.

THe best thing to do is see a dermotologist.

There are many skin products out there for acne. For superficial acne you might try using a cleanser a couple of times a day that contains salicylic acid. THese can be purchased over the counter. For bad outbreaks you will find that expsoure to the sun is good for clearing you up but there are serious long-term health consequences to sun exposure.

For more serious acne with large deep pockets you probably need to go on some ort of antibiotic therapy in which case you definitely need to see a doctor.

Sorry but I want to ask a silly questions regarding your use with proactiv solution. Are you a black female using the product. If so (or even if not) when you made a change the 1st time from proactiv (did it work for african american skin? I guess is my question) even thought there is a problem with swelling around the eye area for you, did the product work like it indicates?

Some is caused by Demodex Mites. Ask your dermatologist if he can test you for them. Then check out http://www.demodex.info. They have a lot of good info on what does and does not cause acne, and how you can treat it.

Hello belinda! I think the mistake there is that you applied strong products like proactive to one of the thinnest skin in your entire body_the EYE AREA. This is a very sensitive area hence, you can tell a woman's age by how her bags look(unless she underwent eyebag removal). Do consult a dermatologist & when washing, be extracareful with those peepers. Anyway, when I do get a few pimples, I soak some cottonballs with a toner & put them on top till the cotton dries out. It usually does the job for me.
