Hello, I'm 40 years old, have 3 children 25, 21, and 17. I had a tubal banding about 15 years ago. I also have a history of fibroids which have not bothered me in over 3 years. My periods had been normal until Feb. 2010, I missed March and have only had spotting to light periods since. Spotting sometimes occurs if I lift something heavy. I have pregnancy symptoms, I even look pregnant. (18pds weight gain mostly in my stomach since april),nausea, enlarged breast (a cup size), fatigue and headaches. I started feeling movement over six weeks ago. Had an U/S about 3 days ago, it showed an enlarged uterus 12cm. Have had negative HPT and faint positive HPT tests, blood test negative and ultra sound only showed enlarged uterus with no mention of the fibroids in the U/S report, my ovaries are normal also. I feel like I am pregnant. Doctor says he doesn't think I am, even though he felt something large during an exam which he told me he thought was a fibroid or an ovarian cyst. He won't listen and I strongly believe I am pregnant. I'm very frustrated and confused! Please help

If you were pregnant, it would be very unlikely that an ultrasound wouldn't pick it up at this stage. I'd be more concerned about why your doctor is apparently not discussing more testing to determine what might be going on.
If the faint positives you got were read within the time frame stated on the directions, I would ask about having a quantatative blood test which will measure the amount of hcg in your blood instead of giving a positive or negative result. I would also ask about having a transvaginal ultrasound if that was not the sort that was done previously.

Thank you for answering me. Yes the HPT were read in the right time frame. The doc did order a blood test (qauntative) it read 0. The U/S was not transvaginal and the doc refuses to order one, Even though my uterus is enlarged. I feel movement.
