1996 GMC PU w/V6 and manual trans (wont start)
Intermittant "won't start" problems. I have replaced the crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, fuel pump (twice), plugs and plug wires and fuel filter. There are no codes when I scan the computer and the truck runs fine when it does start. The truck has 179,000 miles on it and is in great condition. I have many years on shade tree mechanics under my belt but this one has become challenging. I can take it back to the shop but they seem to be doing the same thing I am... swap a part and see what happens, at my expense plus over inflated labor costs.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I would replace the igniter (most likely culprit) and the coil. If you want, remove the parts and take them to Autozone for free testing. I think this will solve your problem.

    Keep me posted.

    Throttle Position Sensor.
I know of two s-10's that had same problem and, after many headaches, that's what it turned out to be.
    Just a thought...
