Delta monitor 1400 handle screw stack
    Hello,

I am trying to replace a leaky Delta 1400 series monitor valve. The very first stage is removing the handle... however, the screw inside is damaged and won't release/open. How can I remove the handle with the screw in there..

    Thanks
    R

Use a small drill and an easy out to remove the screw see the image below, good luck.

    Hello R,

If that doesn't work you can drill the screw head to remove the handle, also did you know that Delta faucets has life time warranty just call them at 800-345-3358 tell them that you have a leaking cartridge and the handle is loose they will send you a new cartridge and the handle for free no charge to you, open the pdf file below for instruction and will show you the cartridge Part number is RP19804, good luck.

    John,

Thank you for the advice. I drilled the screw last evening and after 2 hours got the handle out...
Now I can not remove the Brass Bonnet. I tried using tools but applying pressure causes the whole faucet to turn inside the wall...

Any idea on how can I remove this Brass Bonnet safely..

    Thank you

    Hello R,

That Brass bonnet nut is very thin and it has fine threads, if you squeeze to hard you will not be able to loosen it, you have to use a strap wrench to remove the nut, good luck.
