Air bubbles in my goldfish tank
I have a small hexagon tank for my 2 goldfish, it has a filter that pumps out small air bubbles into the tank, the tank is around 15 litres. I am worried because there seems to be a lot of air bubbles in the tank, will this harm my fish?

What sort of filter is it?

Mine has a little tube that sits outside the tank and this is how it draws the air in. I just put a little clamp on the air hose so not as much air flowed through it.

Do you have the filter going all the time or do you turn it off at night?

I'm not sure it came with the tank? Haven't got an airpump they said I didn't need one with the filter I have?? And no I don't turn it off at night.

If it is very powerful I would consider turning it off at night, I do this with my fish as it gives them time to just sleep. Fish need about 8 hours sleep a night just like humans.

Check the top of the filter, there has to be an inlet somewhere for it to suck the air in so it can blow the bubbles out. Partially blocking it up will stem the flow of air. Many have adjusters on them as well.

It won't really hurt them to have it up high if you can't find it, I just hate not being able to see my fish through all the bubbles ;)
