    Humming Noise in House
Hi, I have been searching on Internet for some answers to the new "humming, pulsating sound that has begun to plague my house and cause me countless sleepless nights for the past three to four months. Like some of the other responders, I have turned all the power off to the house to see if that is the cause, but the sound persists. Sometimes it's louder than other times. Sometimes it it blessedly absent.
Some of my friends hear it/feel it - two with poor hearing (one wears hearing devices) do not hear it. One friend said it gave him a low dull headache after half an hour.
Sometimes I can hear it just outside the front door, other times when we walk outside it's gone. Definitely feels like it's coming up through the basement. I've contacted all the neighbors, and the city, and nobody has a clue and none of the neighbors can hear it or feel it (unless they come to my house!). Honestly I don't know how much longer I can take it... I feel I want to be out of my house as much as possible. I have called an acoustics specialist in Victoria who tells me their office is receiving more of these kinds of calls, and while they will come to assist me (at $130.00 per hour) to attempt to determing where it's coming from, they tell me they have not so far been able to pin point these types of sounds from previous callers in the Victoria area!
Hoping to find the answer soon...

You were piggybacked on a old thread so I gave you your very own.
SAVE YOUR MONEY! We have experts that will walk you through your problem for free. Better them $100 bucks a hour, huh?
First off let's isolate the source of the problem. Wait until the noise starts. And then shut the water off at the house shut off/ Now open up a hot and cold faucet and let the pressure bleed off. Did the noise stop or did it continue with the water off?
