    Question on moments:

    How do I take moments about P, S and D?
    E.g. 0.8T + 1.2T1 = 1.2(1000) = 1200

    Hi, Louisa88!

    The only way that someone will be able to go to the page in Facebook to which you posted the link, would be if the person has an account with Facebook.

    I think that's better...

    It depends on what you want to take as pivot...

    Taking the pivot at D,

    Moment at P = (Wg)(1.2)

    Moment at S = (T)(0.4)

    Taking pivot at P,

    Moment at S = (T)(0.8)

    Moment at D = (1000g - T1)(1.2)

    Taking pivot at S, we get,

    Moment at P = (Wg)(0.8)

    Moment at D = (1000g - T1)(0.4)

    From those, you can go on to find the answer to your questions :)
