Trimming a Beard and Moustache. What Do You Think Are Acceptable Lengths to Them?
    Hi, All!

I don't really know. Have now grown a rather long beard and mustache. Have had them for about a year. Got pretty scraggly before Christmas. My daughter then hired a barber friend to come over to where I was house and dog sitting to cut my hair and trim my beard and moustache. That was at about 11:00 at night!

I originally grew them because I direct one of the local men's barbershop choruses. Kind of goes with the territory of that sort of thing, if you catch my drift... If I used the wax thing, I would definitely have a huge handle bar moustache!

Well, they've gotten long again. Definitely not very neat!

What's your idea of acceptable and neat for facial hair on men in general and in the workplace, please? An attorney friend, who is a woman, has told me that people are afraid of men who have a lot of facial hair. I don't really "buy" into that, but her saying that does make me pause to think...

If you don't like facial hair on men at all, please do write about that!

    Thanks!

I'm neutral on this, but I will say, a man with scraggly unkempt, overly long facial hair. That's not my thing.

I don't mind a neatly trimmed moustache and maybe a goatee (sp?) but a full on beard isn't really something I find attractive. But that's just me.

I think that as long as it's neatly trimmed, it's okay.

At Christmastime, I would have had no problem playing a part as Santa Claus, Alty!

But, they're getting out of shape again. Have even had comments from my barbershoppers about the trimming that needs to be done...

Well at the beginning of this post you should have said FOR ALL THE WOMEN. Well all the women of amhd what do you think.

I know that I have had many different looks myself, full beard at one time. Shaved clean, and goatee.

The majority of people, women, I come across have said that the goatee look. Is the look that is best.

Maybe not for all men, but for me specifically who knows.

GOATEE, because all the women like it on me.

Looks like so far we are all of the same mind...

I have had a mustache since I was 21, believe me that was some time ago.

I coached baseball for 14 years and when our 18 year old boys were going for the state championship we all picked certain things that we would do. Mine was grow a beard. We won the state championship and I gladly shaved it off. Some guys just aren't cut out for beards... I know.

Although the restaurant that sponsored our team still has a large plaque/trophy on their wall with our team picture showing that beard...

Maybe someday, I'll dare to post an image of me here.

Did trim the beard today, though!

You and Marta saw me when my beard and moustache were in the beginning stages. It since has become full-blown!

Why did you shave off your beard, please?
