Should I be worried about my Heart rate? Its been between 93 & 109. I also been dizzy
My BP has also been High, but all this mostly in the left arm. The right arm registers normal or close to it. Its been going on for about 3 weeks now. Should I go to the ER? I have no history of any of these, and I'm a 27 Y/O white female.

Left arm is normally used to take BP because closer to the heart, babygirl. Yes that is a high pulse. What is your blood pressure reading ?

I don't know what your other health issues are, babygirl, but on proper meds mine is l20/60 which is good for 67 year old active female. You had better get checked out by your doctor and regulated. Walking is good to bring down blood pressure to a decent level. I know there is a big age difference but your BP should not be that high. What meds are you presently on ? What is your weight and lifestyle ?

    Hi, babygirl29010!

For concerns about your health, it would be best if you would consult with a physician who can visit with you and examine you in person.

    Thanks!

    ER, no.

An urgent care center, maybe. You don't need an appointment, but you should find a doctor to see on a regular basis.

    Any weather correlations?

My heart rate is typically 80-100. Although no one has mentioned why, but I have breathing issues. That may be related.

I am not on any medication, however I have high cholesteral, and diabetes. It usually causes extreme headaches when it starts to go up. I'm 5'7 and weigh 253 lbs. It has gotten to the point at times that I have to miss work also.

Babygirl, you are in a high risk position if are you are a diabetic, high cholesterol, overweight and high blood pressure. I urge you to see a doctor so he can get you out of the stroke zone which you are already in. You are too young to be having these problems.

Dont risk your life any longer please, urge you to visit a doctor now, or an emergency room at the hospital now.

Your constant headaches are a warning sign of problems to come in the immediate future.

As a matter of fact, I just too my blood pressure and it was 128/91 with a heart rate of 97. I'm trying to check it ever so often to make sure its not up like it was last time. Will probably try to go to the ER tonight. Especially since I am a smoker also.

Last doctors visit I went to, he is an old fashioned dr, and told me I had a sinus infection and gave me meds for that, however did not touch the fact of my BP concern. Go figure... maybe I need ER?

You're at risk by not going to see a physician who can visit with you and examine you in person. If not satisfied with the results of one doctor, then try another or the emergency room.

I'm trying to be responsible here. Are you?

    Thanks!

Don't go to the ER unless you go at 3:00 am in the morning. You don't warrant an emergency room.

Urgent care is the better choice for you. Costs the same as a specialist's office visit.

If you have insurance sometimes there are restrictions on emergency room use. Like, they won't pay unless your admitted or a true emergency.

Now, I cannot believe that your not on any meds for diabetes. I hope you have a glucose meter and at least test once in while at the following times.

    1. fasting, morning
    2. 2 hours after breakfast
    3. before lunch
    4. 2 hours after lunch
    5. before dinner
    6. 2 hours after dinner
    7. before bedtime

Can you provide those numbers for one day?
Even better, provide what you ate.

If your not on Insulin or pills, you probably should be. The numbers above are critical numbers.

I will refrain making comments about diabetes and weight loss until you provide those numbers.

I see a crash course in lifestyle changes such as a diabetic educator for meal planning and weight loss and smoking cesation help and some exercise.

Do you know the value of you hA1c (hemoglobin A1c) blood test?

I also want you to educate yourself on "Glycemic index" and avoid or limit foods with a high index such as pizza, white bread and refined sugar.

I test my sugar and its not been higher than 160 in a few months. I know that is still high, but my A1C was not as high as I had expected when they tested it last. I was seeing a dr the reg, but they tried to charge me about $400 for 1 visit when I was on the sliding scale fee (only having to pay $25/visit). They wanted me to pay all at once before being seen again, and with no insurance that is very hard. She told me to test twice a week on my last visit with her. However I have started seeing a new DR since then and he was not concerned about any of that when I asked him last week. He did not want to put me back on my meds in other words.
Just to let you know, I have felt HORRIBLE all afternoon, just to find out that my BP shot up once more. I will be making me an appointment with my DR Monday.

I am sorry, but up to a point I believe that you were rude. Sorry, but if I wasn't trying to be responsible, I wouldn't be trying to find out what is wrong.
I don't have the funds to see a lot of doctors, and around my area, only 2 have a sliding scale fee that can get me in to see them. But as I stated in my previous post, 1 of them wants to charge $400 for a visit that was supposed to be $25.

Nuts. Nuts. Nuts. But, you are between a rock and a hard place.

If your only testing in the morning, then 160 is twice too high. You should be shooting for 80-120.

The two hour after a meal test sees how your blood sugar is spiking and I bet it is.

I'd like to suggest you see and endocrinologist, but that's not likely to happen. Byetta is an injectable expensive med that MIGHT help you on the diabetes and the losing weight front. Ask.

You have too many issues and no insurance to boot which is not a good combination.

Is this the one who didn't want to put you back on medications ? If so, I would seriously doubt he is the kind of doctor you need.
