    I do believe it was the other way, Mennonities broke away from the Amish.

    Amish led a very simple live, no modern items, menonities do use cars and electric item.

    Amish don't believe in car, electirc, zippers on clothing. etc.

    Just some of what I have learn from th menonities in my area.
