Should the West have taken stronger measures to end apartheid in South Africa?
A rigid system of racial separation, known as apartheid, has been one of South Africa's darkest moments in recent history. The international community did little, until the 1990's, to persuade the National Party to abandon their apartheid like policies.

    Full question:
Should the West (U.S. and Europe) have taken stronger measures to end apartheid in South Africa or was this a national concern that only South Africa should have dealth with?

I think South Africa could and did deal with it. Let people deal with their own issues for once. Besides, apartheid is long gone, in fact it is beginning to happen in reverse now.

A stronger approach was not necessary. It was their problem. Maybe a little under the table nudging could have been attempted. But all-in-all, not our concern.
