I need help understanding why this happens!
I need help understanding this I am 15 years old and most of the time when I go to sleep at night my boyfriend stays on the phone because I have a tendency to stop breathing at night. Well for the past couple months when I fall asleep he has been saying to me I love you baby and when he says that I start to flip out on him while Im sleeping. I say things like I hate you and I wish you would just die. Um your family is right you're a worthless piece of . I have never said this to him when I am awake and I don't remember any of it when I wake up. I call him everyday when I wake up and that is how I found out I talk to him like this. Im not sure if it has anything to do with stress or grief because my grandpa just died or something but if anybody knows what's wrong please explain to me please.

Have you been checked for sleep apnea? There is an aparatus you need if you have that condition. They have you do a sleep study at the clinic. If this is something you have never checked out with your doc, please tell your parents about the breathing thing. I have two friends with sleep apnea and my sister is a specialist, so I have a little second-hand knowledge- I am no expert.

People say things in their sleep that make no sense. You know how have bad dreams when your mind is full of stressfull thoughts or your feeling anxiety? Talking in your sleep is probably no different, but if you are going to the doctor about the breathing thing, ask about the talking too.

Speaking in your sleep is subconscious enough that I doubt it could be purposefully directed to a casual listener on a phone. It has less to do with your boyfriend than you realise and more to do with you than you may want revealed just now. Or he is pulling your leg -- like it or not, there is that possibility. Dreams are not to be taken literally, even nightmares, so please don't make literal conclusions from them-- that would be a mistake.

Quick little thought. Maybe it's just his way of getting his insecurities out of the way. Maybe he's afraid you might think those things, and he's manipulating things to see how you would react. I highly doubt this is the case, but just another option.

I can't help but wonder where your parents are at during all this. How do you know you stop breathing at night? If you really do stop breathing at night then a doctor can help you with this.

Could it be possible that your boyfriend is making this up just to see how you react?
