Am I automatically a british citizen?
I am a new zealand citizen, born here in nz in 1980. My parents are permanent residents of n.z, but were both born and married in the U.K and are still U.K citizens, as are both sets of my grandparents, and all other family members.
Do I automatically gain british citizenship by descent, or must I register, as I would like to apply for a british passport. I have looked @ all applicable web-sites, but still do-not understand what I need to do before applying for one. I have tried contacting the british embassy here, but am unable to actually speak to a real person!
