    Kids favorite dinner
My family is stuck in a rut! We seem to have the same things for dinner all the time.. boring. I need some ideas to try but please..
    1) no spicy(hot) things
2)my wife is a stay at home mom.. not a chef
3)i need variety, nothing crazy.. if you know what I mean
So if you have kids, let me know what they like.. thanks in advance.

It's easy to start with what your kids DON'T like... we can go from there.

My girls used to like this when they were young, and named it Tuna Splodge:

    Tinned tuna fish
    Tinned sweetcorn
Crisps (Think you call them chips in the USA)
    Cheese

Make a white sauce, add tuna and sweetcorn. Crush crisps and put on top, then sprinkle with grated cheese. Place in oven until warmed through and the cheese melts.

    Cheap, quick and very easy!

Spagetti Bolognaise can be made very cheap and is nourishing, not a lot of expertise needed!

Also maybe rice, chicken, garlic sauce and sweetcorn and peas. Not at all hard to make and nutritious...

Hot Dogs stuffed with cheese and then wrapped in dough (the kind you buy in the tube) bake... serve with beans, corn, tator tots...

    Chicken tacos

Grilled cheese or Tuna Melts with soup

Spaghetti for sauce use a little chicken broth, bacon, chopped tomatoes, garlic and basil(fresh if you have it). Goat cheese is great with that, but Parmesan will work also.

    Mini burgers/fries

Fondue (you can buy it already made in the store now)

I don't eat meat that much but when I do this is what I usually eat. I love this dish and it is very quick and easy to make!!

    TOMATO BASIL CHICKEN

    Ingredients

    * 2 cups cooked chicken breast strips ( cut them into strips then broil them takes like 5 minutes to broil the strips)
    * 1 tablespoon olive oil
    * 1 (14.5 ounce) can DICED TOMATOES with BASIL, GARLIC & OREGANO
    * 1 1/4 cups water
    * 1 (6 ounce) package rice pilaf mix (or any rice will do)
    * 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil (if you don't have fresh basil just skip it doesn't make that big of a difference)

    Directions

    1. Combine chicken DICED TOMATOES WITH BASIL, GARLIC & OREGANO, water, rice mix, basil and olive oil in a nonstick skillet and mix well.
    2. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 18 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender, stirring occasionally.

Another really awesome idea we do for fun, usually in the summer is a Kabob bar...
    Chop Meats and Vegetables
    Chicken, Steak, Shrimp
Peppers, Mushrooms, Onions, and cherry tomotoes
Provide Skewers and let everyone create their own Kabobs and take them out to the grill. SO MUCH FUN

Another thought - what about stirfries? I know they are generally spicy, but they don't have to be. Cut up veggies really small, stirfry for a few minutes, add any cooked leftover protein you have available, a little broth of some sort, and there you go...

Oh another one is lasagna... that can be made with any number of things and is kind of fun...
    Mexi lasagna
    Cooked Shredded Chicken Breast
    Cheddar Cheese Soup
    Onions, Olives
    Tortillas
You layer the tortillas, then cheese soup, than chicken, then onion and black olives. Repeat
Top with tortillas and Shredded Cheddar Cheese bake at 350 for about 20-30 minutes.

    Vegetable Lasagna
Same as meat lasagna but substitute whatever veggies your kids will eat for the meat.
