    Afraid I cant get pregnant
I have been trying to get pregnant only 3 months and no luck yet. But for some reason I'm starting to get scared that I can't get pregnant. Is that crazy? How long did it take you to get pregnant with your first child?

    Trying to get pregnant?
I already have a 2 year old son and me and my husband want to try for another baby. When we have sex we don't use condoms and weeks later my period comes? I want to have another baby so my son can have some company, I am going to see my doctor soon so I think he is going to refer me to a hospital so hopefully I will have some idea as to why I'm not getting pregnant. We have been trying for a good 5 months but still nothing can anyone give me some advice?

    Pregnant?
    ameena,
I know what you mean, by saying that you have been having sex, and not pregnant. I am in the same boat as you. My husband and I have been trying since Apirl 2004, and I am not pregnant yet. I have 2 miscarriages. My doctors. Are trying really hard to figure out why I am having miscarriages, and why I can't get pregnant. My dr. told me that when I start my period that is day 1. Around days 10, 12, 14, 16 take an ovalation test to see if you are ovaltion. That should help. After I do that I have to go and have some blood work done. My dr. has said something about having dye put into my tubs, to make sure my eggs are not getting stuck in there. May just want to talk to your dr. about something like that, or a mild form of fertinty drugs. That about all the information I have now. If you want to talk more about this you can e-mail me at [email protected]. I hope that I have been some help to you. :)

I feel the same way, I have two children aged 5 and 7 who I fell pregnant with the first month of trying and now we are trying for a third child. I came off the pill on January 1st and we have tried throughout both cycles and no luck :(
I even bought ovulation predictor kits and had sex on all the right days but still nothing.. It is soooo depressing and I am worried that maybe my husband is smoking too much and that's why I can't get pregnant  Or maybe its from being on the pill although I have had breaks during the last 5 years since my son was born.
I did not notice any egg-white fertile mucus during my cycles.. maybe that's another reason why I can't get pregnant.

Oh.. I hate this waiting game. I have such sympathy for all of you lovely ladies who have been trying for years to get pregnant. 2 months and I'm already out of my mind!!

If any of you are having trouble getting pregnant, my unprofessional advice would be to see your Dr. There are many simple things he/she can do to detect any fertility problems. I, of course, and speaking from experience. After 2 years of trying I finally got diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD aka PCOS) and scar tissue in my fallopian tubes. There are blood tests and a HSG test that your Dr. can perform. It may be well worth the trip to the Dr. Feel free to reply if you have any questions. I've been through so much with respect to fertility problems I feel like a pro!

Right now we are going through in vitro so, please, keep your fingers crossed as I should be implanted toward the end of the month! I need all the luck and prayers I can get. Thanks!

    No protection
    Hey!.
I've been with my b/f for almost two years and for 9 months we haven't been using protection at all, I'm only young I just turned 18 and I don't want to get pregnant yet but I'm just scard that I'll won't get pregnant at all. Something else I'm worried about... every thing comes back out after we have sex, like all the and that, is that sorpose to do that? Some people get pregnant with the frist time having sex so why can't I  what are the reasons you can't get pregnant??

    Hi Kaydee,

You say that u don't want to get pregnant but are not using any protection and seem to be disappointed that you are not getting pregnant? If you really don't want to get pregnant, use some method of contraception which your doctor can help u with and then worry about any fertility problems when the time comes that u do want to conceive. I am sure there is nothing wrong with you and it is normal for fluids to come out of you after intercourse. After all, its gravity ;)

I think you need to decide whether you are trying to conceive or not!

    Take care :p

    TROOPER12,
Aren't you an 18-year-old boy who wrote in complaining that your girlfriend won't give you head, but she'll do anything else and if she loved you she'd do what you say? I'm not sure your proselytizing about marriage and sexuality is really warranted here.
(Ladies, check out his post in the relationships section.)

So, trooper12 and packert115, you are the same person? And is my guess correct that when you used to post as Mike Porter you were banned? I hope I am wrong here. (The "is that clear" and the poor grammar kind of gave you away.)
    Best of luck!

    Getting Pregnant
    :) Hi,

I just wanted to say to all the people trying to get pregnant and worrying after three month if they are infertile, or if its normal to wait so long to conceive to just relax. The truth is that only a very small percentage of couples are infertile around 1 to 3 % It is well known that it takes most healthy couples at least one to two years to conceive a baby. The reason for this is that a woman is only fertile when she ovulates and she has a time of approximately 14 hours to fertilize the released egg. True there are lucky woman who get pregnant the first time of trying, but this is only because they got lucky in the time, unfortunately the rest of us have to work at it.

I have never for example used contraception, I´m a 26 six year old female and I feel that I am not yet financially secure to give my child the future and education e.c.t it deserves. I have however been married for seven years. The reason I haven´t conseived is because I know excatly when I release an egg, if you are trying to conceive but you have sex outside the fourteen hour period I am the proof that you can´t make a baby.

My husband and I are booth fertile and healthy, so back to my point if your not getting pregnant its usually to do with the timing, as any doctor will point out. A good method to help you conceive is Cycle Beads since they show you the exact days when you are likely to get pregnant. Cycle Beads are available to buy on line, they are the method I use so as not conceive .

Another Tip: A friend of mind who couldn't conceive visited the doctor, and he told her that she should not have sex with her husband throughout the month and that they should only have sex on the days when her egg was released, he also said that if her husband mastrubated a lot that this decreased his spem count.

    Hope this helped

    Getting Pregnant
    Hi,
For the older woman ou there who are worrying about conceiving since its taking so long with their third or fourth child I found this article.

    http://msnbc.msn.com/id/4499301/

It’s unfair, but as we get older, our eggs develop quality-control issues. It gets harder — and takes longer — to get pregnant.

For women between 19 and 26, there’s a 50 percent chance of achieving pregnancy in one menstrual cycle, assuming they have intercourse at the time of ovulation.

For women in their late 30s, this falls to 30 percent. In other words, there’s a 70 percent chance each month that you won’t conceive.

Equally unfair, miscarriage rates rise with age. For 35-year-olds, the rate of pregnancies ending in live births is half that for women in their 20s. By age 45, it is down 95 percent.

Each egg and sperm cell contains half the chromosomes needed to make a complete embryo. These chromosomes are time-vulnerable. When asked to do their share in creating the embryo, they no longer do so satisfactorily. They break, collapse or go to the wrong place.

It’s those chromosomal abnormalities that cause most miscarriages — it’s natures way of stopping the development of a malformed fetus.

But you needn’t feel totally fertility-challenged. There are things you can do to make the most of every cycle:

    Time intercourse properly
An egg is ready for fertilization during ovulation, or 14 days before your period. If your cycle is short, you may ovulate even if you are still bleeding. You should be having intercourse during ovulation.

    Start early, not late
Because sperm can live for a week inside your cervix waiting to fertilize an egg, start trying to conceive before you ovulate. You can start trying on day 10, repeating every day or two. Once released, an egg can be fertilized for only 24 hours, so you won’t get pregnant if you have intercourse a day after ovulation.

See your gynecologist if your cycle is shorter than 21 or longer than 35 days. You may not be ovulating.

    Take your temperature
If you’re not sure when you ovulate, you can figure it out by taking your basal body temperature (BBT) each morning with a special thermometer, available in drugstores. (Your BBT is the temperature of your body at rest.) When you ovulate, your body temperature rises almost half a degree. Alternatively, you can use an ovulation kit or mini-computer that tests for a pituitary hormone that rises during ovulation.

It's been a while until I found your post, but have you and your husband seen a Fertility Specialist?
Most men get a little embarrassed, but if yours loves you and also wants children he will take it upon himself to get tested too. There is so much progress made in this field that there should be a chance for you to achieve your goal with a little work and determination. Good luck, and keep us posted.

    Overview

Fertility issues are any factors affecting the ability to conceive (become pregnant). Infertility is the inability to create or sustain a pregnancy after one year of consecutive attempts. This includes recurrent miscarriage and can apply to both women and men.

Fertility treatments include medications (e.g., ovulations drugs such as human menopausal gonadotrophin), assisted reproductive technology (e.g., in vitro fertilization), artificial insemination, intrauterine insemination, surrogacy and even adoption.

Sometimes it is just something as simple as getting your tubes cleaned out. As soon as I had this procedure done, I was expecting the next month...

I'm 20 years old and I've been trying to have a child for the last year and a half. I have no idea what (or if!) I'm doing wrong. I've done nothing but worry over the last 6 months that it's me that can't conceive but recently I've been thinking that maybe it's my boyfriend. I was reading that alcohol and drugs have an effect on him so my concern goes out to him now. Not saying that he a complete druggie... we was on hard drugs a year ago but he quit them now... all he does is smoke pot... but I guess that would stiff have some effect on the problem. Anyway, If you guys have any comments or opinions or just some advice to help me It'd be much appreciated! I have a doctors appointment coming up to see what's going on inside so hopefully it'll be some good news!
    Thanks!

This is an old thread. The worrying is probably what's wrong along with the drug use on your bf's part.
