    A virgin is someone who has never engaged in sexual intercourse. Sexual intercourse is defined as the insertion of a penis into a vagina.

    Losing your virginity is a one time thing. As soon as you have sexual intercourse its gone forever. That's why young people are advised to think very carefully before giving it up.

    What's even more important here is the risks you take having sexual intercourse.

    That is not to say that you can't learn from your mistakes.

    You can refrain from sex, and live a celebate life until you are married if you want to.

    I have heard of born again virgins, which I guess is the same thing. Although technically you aren't a virgin in a physical sense, you can still live as one, by not having sex.
