    Sleep sex.
For the past year now I have been having problems were I go to sleep with someone and attempt or have sex with the person...

It was OK when I was with my Gf it seemed OK. I would wake up in the middle of the night sometimes halfway through sex or and orgasm and even at times the next morn with slight images of doing something with her... she would always tell me the next morning as well...

After we broke up.. I was hitting the clubs again - one time with a close friend of mine after getting home we jumped in the same bed I ended up doing it with her and on another night a heap of us went out and we came back an crash I woke up to a shake I was attemping something on another one of my friends... this has happened a few more time on top of that..

Is this a medical condition ? I feel I need to act and do something about this but I'm not sure where to start..?

    Hello B:

No, it's a BED condition... If you don't want to make love to the person you're sleeping with, DON'T sleep with them. IF you're sleeping with someone who you WANT to sleep with, and she's cool with your nocturnal lovemaking, who cares?

But, I think your problem has more to do with alcohol than it does sex.

    Agree completely with Excon.

However--if YOU are disturbed by this, then you need to see a counselor. Or at the very least your doctor.

    I had the same problem.

It stopped about a year after I broke up with my girlfriend. I think I was just used to her always being in my bed so my subconscious would get all randy even if I was asleep. It never happened when I was drunk, and being as you never mentioned drinking, I'm sure this is true for you as well.

I've leveled with girls who wanted to sleep in the same bed with me but had no intention of having sex. Most were okay with it because if they want to sleep in your bed with you, they obviously want something.

If you are having sex during a black-out from alcohol you are not only putting yourself in jeopardy but your partners as well.
I highly doubt that you are practicing safe sex during these blackouts.
Sounds like you need to curb your drinking and you could avoid this scenario all together.
If you are drinking to the point of blackouts ,you do have a medical problem.Alcoholism is a serious medical condition.

If alcoholic blackouts aren't the problem, then maybe this is another thing to think about:

You might want to ask your doctor about Sexsomnia/Sleep Sex. It supposedly is akin to sleep walking. It seems that alcohol or sleep deprivation can make the condition worse in those who suffer from it. So, cutting back on alcohol consumption until you see your doctor and find out if you are experiencing some form of sleep disorder is probably a great idea.

Thank you but most of the time I am not drinking - I have always been a known sleep walker and there was one case I ended up walking into somones bed and doing something with them as well.

You need to get medical help. So far you've avoided prosecution, but one of these days the girl your sleep sexing with is going to cry rape. Then you'll be in a load of trouble.

Start with your doctor, let him recommend a specialist. You really need to get this under control.

    Until then, sleep alone. Always!

Yes, people who already know they are sleep walkers are more likely to suffer other sleep disorders such as sexomnia.

You need to get proper medical advice on this one.

Definitely, talk to a doctor as soon as you can. There are treatments available according to what I was reading.

Like Alty said, you've been lucky as to avoid prosecution.

Not everyone is going to believe your story. I'm not saying that I don't, I mean you did come here looking for advice.

You need to sleep alone, and lock yourself in.

Around here you would get shot for sneaking in a woman's room and trying to have sex with her.

If your insurance covers it (mine doesn't, yay private healthcare), get a sleep study done. That article Cat posted said sleep deprivation, which is usually a symptom, of sleep apnea (provided you go to bed on time) as a possible cause, and they can only diagnose that if they watch you sleep.

I'm sure you've told everyone you live with that you're a sleep walker so they know to lock their doors.
