    Here is a similar one
    3x+5=35
    First you need to take the 5 from each side so you get
    3x=30
    So now you know what 3 lots of x are but you need to know what one lot of x is so divide both sides by 3:
    x=10

    With equations just remember whatever you do to one side you must do to the other.
    Now try it with yours.

    Do the opposite of what is being done to both sides until you isolate the variable, QLP has a good example
