John deere L110 low traction power
My JD L110 has progressively lost power over its 150 hours. I've applied the service kits at the recommended intervals. The drive belt tension appears OK (although no specs in the handbook), new fuel filter & air filter eliminate engine performance as a problem. The problem seems to be in the drive belt or transmission (which is not serviceable?? ). There are no obvious signs of leaks or damage to the transmission. Machine functions perfectly, except SLOWLY. Any ideas?

    Hi,
Unfortunately, the first machines produced could have the transaxles "weaken" with age. It occurred on the L120 - 130 more often as they used a different transaxle and tolerances were a problem for the first 2 years. They improved in later versions, but the only "cure" was replacement. Some people had them do it in the warranty period and got new tranaxles. The factory called for early failures, but quickly stopped that as they did not want to pay for all the shipping; and I guess, found the problem.
    Peace,
    Clarke

A stick broke two of the plastic fan blades on the fan that sits on top of the trans axle. The grand kids were using the mower for a dune buggy. Anyhow I think its called a trans axle this is causing the belt that rides on the fan pulley, to vibrate quite bad. I want to replace the fan. Any advise...
