    Hunting verses Birth Day
Ok, I happen to have a birthday on second season deer hunting. Nov. 21st. I, as a rule, don't put much importance on birthdays, but... Im mad! Yeah, he is not going to be around for my birthday. Mind you, not many men have stuck around to see this event. Try None! Must be Minnesota... or, am I right to be mad? Tell me what you think. Ask away...

Well,grr- I.d think it would be nice if your SO were around for your birthday,so I'd be miffed I guess if this happened year after year.
How long have you been together?
Happy Birthday-you share it with my son who'll be 17 tomorrow.

It not just Minnesota, its everywhere, as hunters' hunt, that's what they do. The window of opportunity is very small, and I can sympathize with you having the wrong birthday, and the wrong guy.

Start earlier in the year with making it very plain, you want a special birthday with a special guy.

Did he at least get you a special gift to make up for not being there?? If he didn't, now that would be GRRRRR!!

You could remind him that there are plenty of non-hunters that take this time of year to do some hunting of there own wink wink!

I am an avid hunter myself, but would happily spend an important day like a birthday, with my wife. I enjoy hunting just as much as the next guy, but I also consider my wife's feelings. Deer season is long enough as to take a few days off for the ones you love.

However, there are plenty of guys down here in Georgia that would put their wives, and girlfriends, in the same position that you are in.

    Oh well, maybe next year.

Thanks for the great feedback. I had a great day! And I feel pretty darn good this morning. (a bonus)

Tal, I'll have to get back to you on that gift part... Have'nt seen hide nor hair. I can't say if this is a pun, because, my gift just might be a hide.

    Zippit, nudge nudge! :P

Jm, I bet your peach is happy. You're a good man.

Yes!! I enjoyed a fun filled evening. He took me to a casino. I had a wonderful meal. Im not a big gambler, but I did have fun.
My daughter shot her first deer! (just another example of my being abandoned on my B-Day)
I told her how proud of her I was... I made her a nice dinner with the back strap tenderlion. It was quite a treat.
All and all, I have decided not to make such a big deal about spending time alone on any future B-Day... I enjoyed the time I spent on AMHD that day... :)
