Possibly a bad ignition switch--not the lock component. Wear, arcing, and heat can cause them to fail.

I was told by the guy I got it from that it needed a fuel pump but I am a old backyard I worked on pre 1973's I don't know nothing about the newer ones but I know that a fuel pump that is bad IS Bad it would cause it to miss or run rough but your answer sounds good
I don't know it if helps but it has the 3.9L motor and has 97000 miles but what you said makes a lot of senses... Thnaks

I have a dakota 2.5 liter that is running very rough, it sounds like it is misfiring, I replaced the distributor and rotor, it is better but is still popping. Any advice would be very helpful.
