Just installed windows 7
And everythings turned big, I've had a look around and it already says its on the 'small' setting, any ideas on howto make everything normal size again?

Are you saying that icons and fonts are very large? Get into the Control Panel and adjust your screen resolution. I believe that your screen resolution is too low (it's a guess, I know). Also, check your video driver and make sure that it installed correctly. If it didn't, you may need to get an updated driver from the manufacturer's web site. |

Depends what you mean by BIG.
Could be the graphics drivers need updating or the fact the desktop icons on vista and 7 are larger than those of XP. Come on 'bear you know the score, more information required ;) |

Yeah sorry about being a bit vague :o Thanks perito I did adjust the resolution and now the background fits the screen, Web pages and other screens don't quite, so as you guys say ill probably need to update the graphics drivers |

Did you go for a clean install (recommended) or Vista (spit) upgrade?

There may well be your problem.
Any upgrade does "carry over" some system quirks and as we well know Vista was one BIG quirk. Back up and start over. You won't regret it in the long run. |

Nope.
Scrub it and start from fresh. Back up your data and go from there. Big job, yes, but well worth it. I've tested machine with clean installs and upgrades and, you guessed it, the clean install wins for stability and reliability.. |

If I understand correctly, your suggesting to format my laptop and then install windows 7 ? (I already copied my C and D drives to my external hard drive before I tried installing 7 the first time) |

Erm how do I format the drive as its telling me I can't :( It did suggest shrinking the c drive before I could, so at the moment I'm doing that |

Yeah I compressed the c drive and it still wouldn't let me format it, so I've just been deleting all the files I can instead, but alas apparently I can't delete just over 30gb of things because I need permission from 'TrustedInstaller' *sigh* any ideas on what I can do to get rid of this chunk of stuff that I don't need |
