No need to prove a negative. Do you have any published scientific proof that shows genies existence?

Not everything can be proved scientifically, you should know that, but if you don't, you just learned something today...
Anyone else...
I have three muslim friends who have came across a genie, anyone else know anything about this..

A genie as in a genie who comes out of a lamp or something and grants wishes? I believe that the genie is a fictional being. I cannot prove the non-existance of genies- what you have to do is prove their existence. If you can do that, I would be genuinely intrigued!

mudweiser agrees: It's because it was ROBIN WILLIAMS! Awesome actor!
He also played the movie version of Patch Adams... my hero. AND I am going to see Dr. Patch Hunter Adams live on November 4.

Genies are real but in another way. Genies are called Djinns which are like demons and are in hell. It is unknown if there is good ones!

Hi Chronix,
Genie's as others have mentioned like the "Genie in the lamp" who grants wishes does not exist.
But Jinns as Edward mentioned do exist, and as per Islamic beliefs, Satan is also a Jinn.
It is believed that Jinns have both righteous ones and wrongdoers, but as their world is mostly invisible to humans, we cannot guess if we come across a good or bad one.
And yes, there have been reported sightings, sometimes heard but not seen.

Edward,
Please refer link by Jesushelper76-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genie
"The French translators of The Book of One Thousand and One Nights used génie as a translation of jinnī because it was similar to the Arabic word in sound and in meaning. This use was also adopted in English and has since become dominant.
The Arabic root JNN means "hidden, concealed", as in the verb janna "to hide, to conceal".
So no Genie is not used just for the good ones, it could be good or bad.
