Genny rocking but no one's home.
I have a little issue that I can't get to the bottom of.
I run a small but very effective Yamaha EF2800i generator for light construction work.

I have just purchased some new equipment... a Makita Hammer Drill HP1620K 220/240V 650w and a finishing sander 230V. Well that's what is written on the plate on the tools.

The problem is they don't work off the generator. However, I have been able to use my jackhammer which runs off 230v and input is 1600w.

So how can this be. The drill and sander don't work but the power sucking jackhammer works fine.

I have tested the tools on the mains (240v) and they work well. So maybe the generator isn't putting out enough power to get them started, but then why does the jackhammer work and the others don't. My old drill was a DeWalt, same spec as the Makita and that worked fine.

Any ideas? Or I am I missing something?

    Regards
    Rich

    Hi,
I can only thing that it is a wiring/plug/connector problem since the old one works and the new ones work elsewhere; seems to point to the area of the connection.
    Peace,
    Clarke

I just installed a new toilet and it was rocking. The new toilet came with a new wax ring. The kind with the built in funnel.
