Am I a loser if I go to the casino alone?
Just wondering.
There's a casino an hour from my house, and I am really bored tonight and would like to go there for a bit and play some slots.
But is that hugely loser-ish of me? To go alone?
Like... is it looked down upon?.
Lol

No,not at all!
I used to dine alone whenever I felt like it and my friends thought that was nuts but I felt very comfortable in my own skin and had no issue with it.
Go out and have fun!

According to my sister going places alone means you are a loser.
According to me it means you are independent.
The casino-go alone-that way you won't feel guilty for not splitting your big winnings.

Yep, if you don't have a fantistic looking partner to be with every minute of the day, you are most certainly a loser.
We are always judged in life by the pretty people we surround outsides with.
Now it is leaving the casino that makes you a loser, since you lose all your money there most of the time

Hello A:
Gambling, if you want to win, is NOT really a social activity, in any case. It's WAR between you and the dealer.. It's NOT a good time to be glib.
It IS entertainment, though - no different than going to the mall, or a movie, or to a club...
Besides, "looked down upon" by WHO?? And, why would you care what THOSE people think anyway? You ain't never going to please THEM no matter how you live your life... So, SCREW them. Live your life in a manner that pleases YOU - within the bounds of civility, of course.

No help 4 u: I like that and I totally agree! It does radiate independence!
I think that doing things alone, is great! Going to the movies... dinner... I like it!
Hehe 2 years ago I actually went on a 9 day vacation alone, I was staying with people I know though, but each day I would go out and do things on my own (I live in Scandinavia, and I went to virginia, ) I loved it... made me feel empowered and I think I def learned a lot from it, first of all I learned that: I CAN! :)

It's fine to do things alone. Actually it takes a lot of courrage to do things alone because of fear of being a loner. So it would show that you have a lot of confidence in yourself.
Just don't loose too much money. But isn't there something else that you can do that doesn't involve risking money?

Nohelp4u: yeah it was really nice, to just beable to do whatever I wanted when I wanted, and to not have to deal with the stress of work and school, or worry about bills. :)

This is after the fact I'm sure. Just do it. I'm on here cause I had the same same question. Husband doesn't want to go and can't get people's schedules to coordinate, etc. I'm 5 min from casino and keep wanting to go. Think I will. Why not... some people have to go places alone. I have a friend who thinks nothing of it... goes to concerts, movies, shopping, trips.
What I need to know is... will they show you how to play the slot machines? I've done it whenI was with others but not sure I know how to select lines etc.. . casino will have staff to help??

Hello donna:
Given that they make most of their profits off those machines, I would hope they have somebody there to guide you.

Lol, I felt the same way a while back and I live in casino-alley! There's so many here I can't count them all! And guess what? Nobody I know likes to go, except for one person but this person is quite honestly no fun to go with because they have a gambling problem I believe... and I have gone a few times by myself and had a blast! I've actually met people at the casino while playing that ended up being a lot of fun to hang out with for just that short time, just someone to chat with without having a whole past and future together, just as pals for a minute basically! Nobody I knew even knew I went alone nor would anyone nor I have cared if anyone did know I went alone. I say, do what you want in this respect. If nobody wants to come then it's their loss, right?! That's how I see it. You can't go for too long worrying about what others think of you or else you're never going to ever really have any fun ever! Life's too short for that!
