    DBA's under an LLC?
    1) Do I need to register a .com as a dba of my LLC?

    2) Can a 'dba' be called a 'division' of my LLC? i.e. coffeecups.com, a division of MyLLC.

    3) Do the dba's need to be a related industry? i.e. can I use 'coffeecups.com' under a financial services dba

    4) Does the term 'dba' need to be listed as such on the website?

    Thank you!

    Hi, Paxeon!

What you're asking about would greatly depend on the laws where you're located. For instance, in the state where I'm located, I don't have to register what I do as a DBA. I have a number of separate businesses that are all DBA. Where you're located, you might need to do so, though. I don't know.

The fact that you're an LLC might also make a difference. I'm not an LLC, but am considering the various ways that I might incorporate. I'm no expert in that area.

Your question might be better addressed by our Tax Experts. If you would like for me to move this thread to the Taxes area, please let me know. The Tax Experts don't always come over to this forum topic area.

    Thanks!
