    Install a subpanel
I have a 200 amp main service and am adding a 100 amp Cutler -Hammer Load Center as a subpanel to a garage 220 feet from the main panel. I buried #2 awg aluminum cable 24" in the ground. What size breaker do I use in the main panel for the subpanel.

What size amps do you need at the garage? Can be max 100 amps or anything less than 100 amps.

Without knowing the calculated load you can just put a 100A breaker in.

You say you want to use the full 100A? How can you know this without knowing the actual load?
