    Screen View
After formatting my Pc using the recovery disc ,I got everything back to normal, installing the various programmes etc,but I still have a problem with my screen view.I am running windows Vista and I have a wide screen monitor, there is still a space done either side of all the web pages I visit, and although I have adjusted the page view to 125% on the tool bar, which does make screen full, everything on the screen is longer, squares are oblong , circles are oval, people on pictures are taller and slimmer than they should be. I have adjusted the screen resolution, I think that is Ok. I did remember to install the drivers and I assume the grafics driver was on the disc that came with the recovery disc . It seems to me everything should be streched sideways. It wasn't like this before, so any suggestions on what I could try next would be helpful Thank you

The display driver and resolution settings are only half the configuration. Also check that the installed monitor is actually the same physical monitor model you are using. The recovery disk may have included generic monitor configuration info unless the vendor sold only a few monitors with your system. Monitor information (.INF) "driver" files can be obtained from the system or monitor vendor's website and installed through the control panel display properties.

Once the monitor configuration matches the actual monitor in use, adjust the resolution setting to match the monitor's native resolution (specified in the monitor's documentation). LCD monitors have a native physical resolution. The display looks best at this resolution. All other resolutions are scaled to fit and choosing one too disparate from the monitor's native resolution can result in a hideous image.

Not knowing the actual model of your computer, you may find that going to their website, and doing the download updates, which usually include the video drivers, might get you closer. Recovery discs are for basic functionality, of course.
