I recently had a trojan in my computer and had to call Dell to get the laptop put back factory settings.. Being content with the computer being able to turn back on I said thank you and hung up.

Now to my question.. My computer is JACKED! My internet isn't working properly. Google will load but when I try to load maps it doesn't show! Pictures don't show up either and half of the websites I try to go onto don't load completely. Is there a way to fix this? And if so how?

You probably need to re-download things like Flash Player (for things like Google Maps and possibly some of the websites you're talking about).

As for the pictures, do you mean in your email? Or is that happening on actual websites?

As for the internet itself, how isn't it working properly? Just the way you described the other issues? Or is there some sort of issue with your actual connection?

Well it doesn't let me download anything.. itll sho the button but the instalation never begins

I've never had Dell reset any computer to factory settings but I assuming you just reinstalled everything. You probably had a restore disc with the operating system and, hopefully, the necessary drivers.

If that's the case, you have to reinstall any programs that you need or use for anything since purchasing the laptop.

Depending on how you connect to the internet, you may need a program for the connection.

You also might need to download the latest service pack for whatever operating system you have.

I don't know what browser you would have ended up with but you may need to update that. Here's some links:

Firefox (what you should be using ;) ) - Firefox Browser | Upgrade to the latest version of Firefox | Free Download

IE (if you must) - Internet Explorer 8: Home page

Then try just downloading Flash Player directly - Adobe - Adobe Flash Player

That should be a good start. If you're still having issues after all that then we will know it's something a little more complicated.

Try and install the latest version of flash and shockwave

Shockwave and Flash Player 11.0.3.472 (Complete Standalone Installer)
