It looks like you got a good start.
The website I have is really simple and maybe you could use that site and link it to your first page of the one you are paying for.

This is the one I use. It is probably one of the most simplest to use.
I gave up on all the others I tried like geocities.

One of your sponsors is hookup with sexy Asians? Um... something seems a little wrong here.

Better stop going to those porn sites, you got malware on your PC.

I use Web.com as my host. You don't have to use their templates. Or after you design a page with their templates you can then download the page and modify it yourself.

So it looks like what you need is an authoring tool. This is a tool that you can use to design an HTML page. There are loads of them out there. If you have MS Word, you can even use that.

    Scott,
As a guy who uses a CMS (Content management System) to manage a corporate site I can assure that Word inserts insane amounts of bloated code in the background. I would not recommend that.

No disagreement, but some people may just be more comfortable working in Word.

Just like to add that having a free hosting is fine but you cannot control the kind of banner ads they put on your site. You may end up having ads irrelevant to the contents of your site and this may irritate the reader.

I use godaddy as domain and hosting, and I use MS frontpage to make the page. Yes, it's "easy" and "nooblike"... but I likey.

NOhelp4u - I was referring to hopek's site, not your. And it's not a popup. It's a sponsored link. To the left where the top searches are... when I saw it yesterday it was under one of the "children" links. Right now it's under Violence. That list changes all the time.

NeedKarma - I didn't go to a porn site (I saw a link - did I say I clicked on it?) and I don't have malware on my computer.

    megamanhood - It isn't a banner ad, it's a link. See above.

Someone making such a site should be watching out for the kind of advertising that's showing up. When you click on a search about problems with children, going to a list of sponsored links that includes that kind of thing isn't going to look too good.

We got that all cleared up now? Good.

Well I revisited the site in Firefox and IE. I have Adblock in Firefox so I thought that maybe it blocked some ads but there are indeed no ads links at all on that site in both browsers. Can you post a screenshot of what you see?

Sure. It seems to be random though cause the third time I went I couldn't find it. I'm just clicking on the stuff under Top Searches to the left. This one was under Children Charity. As you can see it says sponsored results at the top and it's not banners. The Asian thing is at the bottom. Notice what's above it. And right below that off the screen is "Married Date Link." Three sleezies in a row.

I can't say as I really trust the rest of them either, but am not going to go find out.

I just did it in IE and it's exactly the same.

We are in the same place, right? I'm going to the link from the OP's first post.

Ah I see, it's in a deeper link. I clicked on that link (Top Searches > Children Charity) a dozen times in both browsers and never seem to get an inappropriate link, I never see the 'cheating wives', 'reduce your debt', or 'sexy asians' ones.

Its not the OP. The site was created using the Host's authoring system. So those links are a result of the site's searching, not specific links places by the OP. The reason they are coming up as related links is because of the metadata used by the porn site.

I knew it wasn't the OP doing it - was just trying to inform him/her that it was happening.

So I'm assuming the hosting site for some reason is "open" to allowing these places to just stick whatever they want up? I only know some really basic stuff and never got as far as learning what metadata is, though I have a vague clue.

Wouldn't there be a better site to use that is a bit more discriminating in the links they allow?

I really don't think it's the host's fault, eitherThey are just using someone else's search engine. The fault is more with the site that is using keywords in their metadata that is being picked up by the search.

The host's site seems to serve up sanitized "safe" links. Never have I seen any of the links morgaine is seeing - Scott, have you?
